My name is Paul Wood and for the last 21 years I have been making a successful living exclusively as a Guitar Teacher in and around Saffron Walden and as such I’m Saffron Walden’s longest standing Guitar Teacher.

Since 2019 I have also been the Resident Guitar Teacher at St Thomas More Primary School in Saffron Walden.

I also now offer tuition across the United Kingdom and potentially World Wide via Zoom & Skype.

I work mainly within the genres of Rock and Pop and it’s my aim to teach you how to play the guitar through the songs which have inspired you to want to play to begin with. I have built up a database of nearly 900 songs to help, challenge and enlighten you on your musical quest, the most important thing being that you have fun and thoroughly enjoy yourself as you learn to play the world’s most popular instrument.

My lessons are typically a half hour to an hour long and are held either in my home studio in Saffron Walden or, schedule allowing, in the comfort of your own home . My tuition allows you to progress at a pace that is both comfortable and enjoyable. The songs I teach are mostly those that have been requested by students throughout my teaching career so if you would like to learn a song that isn’t already in my database then, given a little time, I should be able to work it out for you.

If you don’t already have a guitar I am more than happy to give purchase advice to the uninitiated, with regard to the instrument itself and other accessories which might seem slightly bewildering to the beginner.

I have been playing Acoustic & Electric Guitar for 40 years and for 15 years I was trained by a professional opera soprano. I have both solo and band performance experience and I am also a singer song-writer with recording studio and live experience. I am also rhythm guitarist with my band Eva’s Dream which has played live radio performance and many notable local music festivals.

I have a considerable reputation for reliability and naturally hold an Enhanced DBS and have Third Party Insurance.
